Testimonials

I wanted to take a minute and compliment you on your organization. This is our first year using Positive Action and we are very pleased with the curriculum. (More accurately- our first year in several years. We used it maybe 10 years ago and switched to BJ Press.) I felt that our Bible curriculum needed a jump start and considered several other sources as possible changes. We finally settled on Positive Action and we are glad we did. I have heard from both students and teachers alike how much they have enjoyed the change. Its godly values and emphasis has been much appreciated.

As an "old" Proteen from the 70's myself, I'm still impressed by your materials, and I happily return to it for my kids...

I just wanted to write to all of you at Positive Action and let you know how much I enjoy working with the ProTeens material. My church has used it for some time, and I have just finished my first full year as the director of ProTeens. "The Holy War" had a huge impact on our teens last year, and I look forward to the upcoming study! I also use your material for Sunday School, and we all enjoy that as well. If you are ever in the need for someone to promote your products in Wisconsin you can call on me anytime! From customer service to material you all have created a ministry that truly honors Christ!

A Brief History Of Positive Action For Christ

Positive Action For Christ is a publishing house specializing in youth curriculum for fundamental churches. It began as a single ProTeen club in 1969 at Falls Road Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Soon other churches wanted to use the materials Frank Hamrick had written for his teens, and by 1971 thirty-five churches were using Frank's materials. A board was formed to govern the fledgling ProTeen ministry and the organization incorporated as Positive Action For Christ, Inc. in July 1972.

Throughout the 1970s ProTeens continued to grow as hundreds of churches heard about the materials. By now a full-fledged publishing house had been established and a building had been purchased to house the printing, secretarial, and shipping departments.

In the early 1980s Positive Action decided to launch a Bible Curriculum for Christian schools, beginning with 7th-12th grades. These materials were quickly adopted by schools and soon rivaled the sales of ProTeen curriculum. In 1986 an elementary curriculum was added and an Australian office was opened.

The 1990s brought even more phenomenal growth with sales volume increasing by 600% during that decade alone. In 1992 Positive Action For Christ was invited to provide their Christian School Bible Curriculum for the public school system of Ukraine. Thousands of Ukrainian youth from the 2nd through the 6th grade are now using the Positive Action Bible curriculum and each year another grade level is added.

Positive Action employs 13 full-time and several seasonal part-time staff and continues to see its product line and its sales volume increase. Thousands of youth in churches and schools in all 50 States and in over 30 countries around the world now use Positive Action For Christ materials.

Mission Statement

Positive Action exists to equip Bible teachers to magnify the majesty of God.

Doctrinal Statement
All Positive Action For Christ materials are based on the following doctrinal position:

  1. The divine inspiration and authority of the Scriptures. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is all of the revealed Word of God.
  2. The deity and humanity, virgin birth, and sinless life, substitutional death, and bodily resurrection, ascension, and premillennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  3. The sovereignty of God, total depravity of all men and the necessity of regeneration.
  4. The doctrine of the Trinity as historically and scripturally maintained.
  5. The local church as an autonomous body, separate from the world.
  6. Scriptural believer's baptism as a prerequisite to church membership and the Lord's Supper administered by the local church.
  7. The Rapture of the church and resurrection of the bodies of all Christians in concurrence with the Rapture.
  8. The premillennial coming of Christ to the earth to rule and reign for one thousand years.
  9. A heaven of eternal duration for the saved, and eternal punishment in the lake of fire for the lost.
  10. The separation of the Christian from all worldly practices, in wholehearted devotion to the cause of Christ.
  11. Salvation of the soul by repenting of sin and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and that the soul thus saved is eternally saved and can never be lost.
  12. Separation from liberalism, neo-evangelicalism, and all forms of apostasy and compromise with unbelief.
